TNL.net now searchable

July 18, 2003

I’ve just implemented search using the Google search API on the site. This was my first experiment actually doing development with SOAP and I must say that it was not as complicated as I thought it might be, once I finally understood the basic concept. Anyways, for those of you visiting the site via a web browser, enjoy the new feature. For those of you accessing the site via RSS, this probably won’t make much of a difference.

Of interest, though, is the fact that the Google search actually returned some of my (n)echo feeds at times. Something interesting must be going on at Google as I never bumped into a (n)echo feed before. Could it be that Google will actually support the new format in the future and is currently working on building a solid index of those files? This seems like an interesting find.

A last note, please don’t abuse the search, my Google API key is only good for 1000 searches a day.
