RSS2Necho is now RSS2Atom
July 29, 2003
Welcome to TNL.net. If you like this content, you may consider subscribing to the RSS feed.Following the news of changes to the feed validator to bring it up to speed with the latest Echo/(n)echo/Pie/Atom standard, I have made a few changes to the program I developed to create feeds for the new format from RSS. Here’s a quick list of changes:
- Changed name from RSS2Necho to RSS2Atom
- New parser is now at http://www.tnl.net/channels/rss2atom/ instead of the previous URL. No changes will be made to the previous version anymore.
- Added and to the list of attribute in an item. If the initial feed includes a properly formatted date (as in dc:date fields in RSS 1.0), it will pick up that one. Otherwise, it will take the current date.
- Ensured that feeds still validate
So there, enjoy… As always, the way it works is that you take your feed (for example, http://www.foo.com/myrss.xml and append it to the RSS2Atom URL (in this example, it would be http://www.tnl.net/channels/rss2atom/http://www.foo.com/myrss.xml ).
