Long before most people had heard of the Internet, I read this book (in 1988), which essentially convinced me that there might be a job in computer networks. While most of it may seem dated now, this book was prescient in establishing some of the first case studies in the information economy. In a way, I could say that this book changed my life in that it proved to me that there were other people out there who saw the same potentials I did when I first saw the net.
