Today, Creative Commons launched a fund-raiser and I would encourage readers of this blog to go ahead and contribute as it is a very good: helping make coyprighted content more available in a variety of distribution models.

Creative Commons was born out of the concept that copyright needs to evolve in the digital age. Copyright generally gives a creator full rights and does not allow the creator to give away some rights. This is where Creative Commons (also known as CC) comes in. Creative Commons has designed a set of legal contracts and licenses that work in conjunction with copyright, allowing a content creator to reserve only some rights. It’s a very neat idea and it’s a perfect enhancement to copyright in the digital age.
