Other Activities
Member, World Wide Web Consortium
I sat on the "Television and the Web" W3C Interest Group, where I was working along with other members on standards to embed web content into TV broadcasts and vice versa. Our efforts were concentrating on two areas of work: TVML, the television markup language, and the "tv:" tag which, if implemented will allow to embed TV signals into websites. In the past, I've also been involved in some of the development of HTML 3.1, 4.0, and XHTML.
Founding Member, Internet Content Coalition
In 1995, the CDA was passed and many publishers started worrying about the future of online publishing. As a result, a few sites got together to discuss the issue at hand. As it became more apparent that the CDA would be declared unconstitutional, the ICC refocused itself. Since then, we have decided on four objectives: sharing of information, education of ICC members on issues affecting their business, policy making, and promoting the interests of Net publishers.
Webmaster, TNL.net
In my spare time, I administer this site, on which I experiment in different new technologies and with which I try to give back to the Internet community by providing information unavailable anywhere else.
Member, Board of Trustees, The Dorsai Embassy
I am a firm supporter of education as a way to impove general social conditions. The Dorsai Embassy is a 501c3 not-for-profit organization which aims to educate the disenfranchised and the disabled about the Internet. As a way to raise money for its efforts, the Dorsai Embassy has also set-up an Internet Access Provider to help other not-for-profit organizations get on the Internet.
